This element seems a little shoehorned in for the sake of retaining animal characteristics, when clearly she has overcome other primary animal fears of people and guns. The elk head woman clearly does not fear humans or guns anymore, but in the final story in the novel, it is revealed that she is scared of boxcars and trains while she is chasing Denorah. She is portrayed as an angry vengeful spirit who is determined to avenge the deaths of the elk shot in the Thanksgiving Classic, killing off the main characters one by one. One of my major dislikes with this novel deal with certain characteristics of the elk head woman. Please don't read further if you have not yet read the book and still wish to do so in the future. **Once again, as stated in the title, this post will contain spoilers. I am a lifelong horror fan and would love to hear what others think. Maybe it will even clear up some misunderstandings that I currently have. My goal here is to create a discussion about the novel and hear what others liked or disliked about the book. However, upon finishing this book, I have to say I was not a fan. I had very high hopes for this book as I found the premise and concept to be original and fairly intriguing. I wanted to talk about a book that I just finished reading, The Only Good Indians, by Stephen Graham Jones.
